Perennial BI Development Methodology

Perennial BI has been created using Microsoft Power BI, a Business Intelligence software application that helps software developers create and publish dashboards and reports from the often unwieldy and complex data stored away in a company's ERP database, so that business leaders and managers can make informed decisions more easily using visual representations of company data.

Perennial BI provides:

  • The Data Warehouse that stores all the data you need to create visualized reports and dashboards in Power BI. The database we use for the Data Warehouse is Microsoft SQL Server, which seamlessly integrates with Power BI.
  • The SQL scripts and procedures that update the data in Data Warehouse either from flat files that are created from your existing ERP database, or from a direct connection to your ERP database, using technologies such as ODBC, OLE DB, etc. We use SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to extract the data, map the database tables and fields to those created in the SQL Server Data Warehouse, and schedule loads of the data into the data warehouse as and when required.
  • Pre-Built Data Models, Reports and Dashboards across the 4 business functions, plus the KPI Scorecard described above. Whilst these dashboards and reports are ready to use "out-of-the-box", saving your company thousands of dollars in data preparation, modelling, and report creation, they can be customized to suit any particular requirements you may have.

Perennial Software can also provide Customized Business Intelligence Data Models, and Dashboards and Reports that are designed from the ground up specifically for your requirements, where the pre-built data models, dashboards and reports are not considered suitable for your company.
